New Disney Movie to Feature Classic Video Game Villains
Wreck-It Ralph is a 3D-animated film from Disney due out November 2. The movie stars Ralph, who is a 9-foot, 643 pound, 8-bit video game character who wants to turn his life around and become a role model after going through decades of mischief.
The film will also feature many cameos from classic video game villains such as Bowser (Super Mario World), Kano (Mortal Kombat), Dr. Robotnik (Sonic the Hedgehog), Dr. Wily (Mega Man), Zangief (Street Fighter II), M. Bison (Street Fighter II), Clyde (Pac-Man), and Coily (Q*bert).
Here’s the movie’s synopsis:
“He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero,”
Wreck-It Ralph will feature voiceovers from John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch, Jack McBrayer, and Sarah Silverman. It will be Disney’s 52nd animated film.

Above all, I want Gameological to be humane and approachable. There are so many tiresome fiefdoms in gaming. You’ve got your “hardcore” gamers and your “casual” gamers. Console gamers are inferior to PC gamers, or maybe it’s the other way around. Gaming discussion online is riddled with jargon, and if you don’t know all the lingo, suspicion may arise that you’re not a “real gamer.”
Look, I love enthusiasts. I am one. I also think you shouldn’t have to be obsessed with games to take part in a conversation about them. So let’s open up a bit. I wrote on our pre-launch teaser site that everyone’s a member of The Gameological Society, and I meant it. We’re all about scaling back the intimidation factor and making game talk more accessible. That doesn’t mean dumbing things down. Far from it. It means writing in a grounded and witty style that’s refreshing for fanatics while also welcoming those who are simply fans.
Gameological is not a juggernaut. There are plenty of sites that claim to be “authoritative,” “the ultimate guide,” “the only resource you need.” We don’t pretend to be any of that. We’re a bunch of individuals who like to think and talk about games. While the site certainly has earnest aims, we don’t plan to take ourselves too seriously. Authoritative? Good lord, no. Subjective, spirited, curious? All of the above. It’s more fun that way.
Excited for this.

So true, so horribly true.

Secret ROM track is just so much NOSTALGIA, GOG ohhhhh soo much EarthBound and Chrono Trigger oh and Final Fantasy VI ;__; That’s like all the RPGs of my childhood.
This must’ve been why starmen.net was freaking out, this is just so great
Just finished watching Legend of Korra… for some reason I have the Radical Dreamers song from the end of Chrono Cross stuck in my head?? Uhh, alright.
Space Funeral. Pretty awesome game. You should play it.
Part 2 here. (This one actually describes my point a bit better… but the rock gets way too overpowering and intense haha.)
A while back, someone on the SCAD 2015 Facebook page brought up the idea of starting a school orchestra. When I first got here, I wondered why we didn’t have an orchestra in the first place.
This is how I would imagine how our orchestra would be like. All types of instruments playing from classic to rock collaborating together to make a unique and hopefully epic sound. Also the mix of nerdy American kids with all the Asian international students performing geeky music, probably pushing out all the hipsters and such, but hopefully not all of them would be scared away. We wouldn’t be the best orchestra, but it’d sure be fun to play in it.
Actually, that kind of perfectly describes SCAD.
Why yes, I WILL forever cry at this song.
I am a college student currently undecided. I am undecided on majoring in graphic design, motion media design, animation, and interactive design. So pretty much everything.
